Alan Swenson is the Chief of Staff and Senior Vice President of Network Strategy at Kno2. Serving as a strategic extension of the President & Founder, Alan leads the development of the governance, policy, and operating frameworks that define how the Kno2 Network functions — while driving national interoperability leadership and bridging standards, product, engineering, and market adoption across the healthcare ecosystem.
Alan brings more than 15 years of deep health IT interoperability expertise to Kno2, with a career shaped by some of the most consequential roles in the national exchange landscape. He is widely recognized as a trusted national voice on interoperability policy, governance, and standards, with a proven track record of leading complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives at both the technical and executive levels.
Most recently, Alan served as Executive Director of Carequality, where he scaled the Carequality Interoperability Framework to nearly 2 billion monthly clinical documents — the largest interoperability framework in the United States. He simultaneously served as a Vice President of The Sequoia Project and TEFCA Technical & Operations Lead for the Office of the National Coordinator’s (ONC) Recognized Coordinating Entity (RCE).
