BOISE, Idaho – May 17, 2018Kno2®, the company that provides Interoperability as a Service to everyone in healthcare, today announced that Technomad, a Bonita Springs based IT and software development company, is embedding Kno2 within their ChartPad® EHR. The cloud based, voice-driven EHR primarily serves the long term acute care (LTAC) and inpatient psychiatric hospitals markets.

Kno2: Interoperability as a Service™ will be essential for ChartPad clients to send, receive, find, and use patient information with providers in their communities.

Sharing patient information and documentation is a significant challenge for LTACs, especially ones that are Hospital-in-Hospitals (HiH) settings and are utilizing ChartPad EHR while the host hospital has another EHR. Interfaces are costly or often not an option due to lack of resources. Kno2 turns on interoperability for ChartPad EHR users by effortlessly exchanging patient information and documentation via embedded Direct message capability and absorb received content directly into the patient record. Additionally, users can query Carequality and CommonWell networks to acquire available patient information and documentation from surrounding providers across many EHR platforms.

“As a niche EHR provider, interoperability is always a focus for our clients and partnering with Kno2 solves this challenge,” said Joe Morris, chief information officer at Technomad. “Our EHR is known for ease of use by clinicians and having access to a more complete chart through interoperability with other providers is a tremendous value-add for our client base. ”

In addition, Kno2 cloud faxing is available to all ChartPad EHR users, enabling the exchange of all patient information in a single experience. ChartPad users will receive a monthly fax analysis that focuses on high-volume fax partners and identifies if they can connect electronically. This results in the reduction of fax expenses and time associated with managing fax documents, while at the same time moving to a more interoperable form of exchange.

“The markets that Technomad ChartPad serves are a perfect example of where healthcare requires Interoperability as a Service,” said Jon Elwell, chief executive officer at Kno2. “This exciting partnership highlights Kno2’s reach throughout healthcare and the many care settings challenged with exchanging critical information for effective patient care, which simply cannot be done if faxing continues.”
