What do you do at Kno2?
I am so lucky to be a part of Kno2. As part of the Market Strategy and Adoption Team, I work with an amazing team to understand the daily challenges of those working in the healthcare industry. As patients, we all need our medical information available at the moment we seek care, no matter our physical location, to best inform physicians providing that care. I love that being part of the Kno2 family allows me to contribute to the creation of technology solutions that make this our reality.
How we track and support these technology solutions/programs is a part of my every day. My focus is to ensure program success for both our partners and healthcare at large. We support the solutions and the consumers to ensure successful outcomes as they are implemented with our customers in the timeline they need. The focus of the Market Strategy and Adoption Team fits my passion for customer success and adoption of technology, working in partnership with every Kno2 team member and other technology partners to improve interoperable communication and connecting technology in healthcare.
What motivates you to wake up and go to work every day?
I love working for a company that is challenging healthcare to improve interoperability. Kno2’s mission fits my passion to simplify healthcare communication and securely share electronic health records, providing seamless solutions to communicate and exchange information between technology partners across every corner of healthcare, whether health systems, physician practices, skilled nursing and long-term care facilities, home health and hospice care, health information networks/exchanges, etc. I knew my career home was in healthcare and more specifically, medical records and the progression to electronic health records. I have been fortunate to fulfill my career dream working in a field that serves my passion in caring for people, connecting this to my love of using technology to make every day easier. I have been a part of the “old-school days” in the Medical Records Department, organizing, filing, and managing the patient’s paper record. So happy those days are behind most of us!
We have made incredible progress to move from paper to non-paper workflows in healthcare operations, but we have much more work to do, and I look forward to every minute of it! Use of and reliance on paper is not yet completely behind us, but we continue to get closer. My focus in the future ahead is to empower and embrace the adoption of electronic health records integration and maximize interoperability, sharing information for all of us, as we are all an outcome of this progress. As patients, we are all integrated and a product of the technology solutions we are developing. Technology that makes workflow easier for our providers and clinicians, improves the care we receive by creating efficiency in their day. Providers/clinicians should be able to spend more time with their patients, not having to follow up on requests for information or resending information because the technology fails to exist or fails to function when it does.
Kno2 is the network and future of healthcare communication. The next step for healthcare and its use of electronic health records is to maximize the toolset to support interoperable health information exchange. My career goal is coming true every day. Communication, seamless integration, and interoperability are key for successful healthcare outcomes. I love waking up every morning to serve and contribute to Kno2’s success, making the dream of Therasa and Dane a reality, serving our partners and customers, helping my teammates, and contributing to maximizing technology use for our healthcare community. I love being a part of the partnership of people to serve each other to achieve this common goal. Building technology solutions together will be our success!
What do you enjoy most outside of work?
I love traveling, learning something new every day, and making the home for my husband and fur babies the most comfortable place in the world. My family is the root of my happiness, caring for them and spending time with them. I love spending time with our 3 terriers. They are crazy little canines, but bring me joy every day! I enjoy caring for my aquatic pets, although sometimes frustrating to make sure they survive, I enjoy watching their fish zoomies. I love sharing my appreciation of classic cars with my husband. We both cherish their originality and the technology of their time.
What’s something most people don’t know about you?
For my high school graduation, my ceremony was on a sailboat in the Bahamas. My mom, sisters, and I took a trip offered through Boise State to learn how to sail. The trip happened to be during the time of my graduation ceremony, and I was given the option to go through normal graduation or take a trip on a sailboat to the Bahamas. How could I resist such a trip! They were the most incredible college credits that I have earned. My amazing shipmates created a ceremony for me in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean, serenaded by our captain playing his guitar. A moment in life I will never forget!
My husband Brian and I would love endless space for classic cars. I still drive my 83 VW Rabbit I have had since high school. We have a 1980 VW Vanagon and a 1972 VW Super Beetle, a present for my husband’s 50th birthday. Brian has a 63 SS Nova, very close to the 66 he bought in high school. Not as much of a classic, but my favorite drive is our 97 Jeep Wrangler that is teal, my favorite color.
