Technology and services company launches range of new solutions for acute, post-acute, and community care providers as U.S. healthcare system grapples with continued coronavirus spread

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — April 2, 2020 — Today WellSky®, a leading global health and community care technology company, announced the launch of three new initiatives to support its clients as Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) continues to put vulnerable populations at risk. WellSky is prioritizing safe, intelligent care by introducing a new virtual visit technology collaboration with Synzi; announcing a new agreement to deliver Kno2’s Interoperability as a Service™ and record-request technology to WellSky clients at no charge; and extending complimentary access to the company’s transformative WellSky Home Health CareInsights predictive analytics technology to all home health clients.

“WellSky is fiercely protective of our clients and the communities we serve always, and especially now as the COVID-19 outbreak progresses,” said Bill Miller, CEO of WellSky. “Our clients are facing never-before-seen challenges, and we’re here to equip them with the technology they need to safely administer care anywhere. For the duration of this pandemic and far beyond, WellSky is dedicated to removing barriers to care and delivering the right solutions when, where, and how our clients need them.”

Each of these efforts is part of WellSky’s ongoing commitment to serving care providers who are on the front lines of this formidable public health crisis. Clients who are interested in learning more about these initiatives should email WellSky at covid19response@wellsky.com.

  • Virtual visit technology: Given the well-documented shortage of personal protective equipment (PPE), WellSky has partnered with Synzi to offer a free trial with access to a range of powerful virtual care capabilities. Providers can leverage cutting-edge video visit technology that empowers real-time visits between clinical staff and patients or case managers and their clients without the risk of contact with COVID-19 or other infections. Using secure messaging and remote symptom screening tools, patients can easily share their symptom status with their healthcare provider and provide regular updates on symptom progression or changes. Case managers can also use Synzi’s tools to check in on clients at a high risk of isolation or to conduct remote assessments. As the COVID-19 pandemic worsens, WellSky’s partnership with Synzi will ensure post-acute and community providers are able to continue delivering safe, uninterrupted patient care.
  • On-demand patient record retrieval services: As health systems refer more patients to post-acute and community care settings, WellSky is working with interoperability leader Kno2 to help organizations leverage technology for faster, easier information sharing — rather than using time-consuming methods like phone calls and faxes. Through Kno2’s data exchange technology, care providers can search for historical patient records from participating hospitals, health systems, and clinics — saving valuable time and energy that could otherwise be devoted to patient care. This is available to WellSky’s post-acute and community clients at no charge during current state and national emergency declarations. WellSky clients can sign up to use this feature here.
  • WellSky Home Health CareInsights access for all home health clients: WellSky will now offer all of its home health clients complimentary use of and access to its advanced predictive analytics technology, which is built to reduce hospitalizations and improve patient outcomes. Now through June 30, 2020, all WellSky home health clients can leverage new CareInsights’ COVID-19-specific functionality that can help providers better address coronavirus patient care. New features include easy access to COVID-19 screening results and related symptoms in population-level dashboards, as well as tracking tools displaying all infections and infection control events in the patient timeline.

In addition to these powerful new offerings, WellSky has also recently launched a dedicated COVID-19 educational resource center to help providers stay informed as the situation evolves each day. Throughout the duration of the coronavirus pandemic, the WellSky COVID-19 Resource Center will feature a consistently updated content library that includes webinars, tip sheets, white papers, and more. Through these initiatives, WellSky is furthering its dedication to the long-term success of its clients during this crisis and into the future.
