Wall Township, N.J. – October 17, 2016 – HCS, a single-software platform providing clinical and financial healthcare information systems to more than 6,000 client locations, is proud to announce their strategic partnership with Kno2, leading provider of interoperable patient document exchange. Kno2 powers the secure transmission of patient information over multiple exchange methods, resulting in significant workflow efficiencies while driving improved care transition and care coordination for users of HCS’s Interactant platform.
HCS’s customers provide care to patients and residents in various care settings including long-term care, long-term acute care hospitals (LTACH), behavioral health, rehabilitation and hospitals. Each of these care settings depend on care transitions, which demand seamless transmission of patient information from one care provider to the next. HCS’s integration with Kno2 will assist Interactant users in adoption of interoperable patient document exchange with access to universals directories including Surescripts HISP and the Carequality framework. This integration will facilitate secure digital document transmission, including the exchange of CCDA documentation, while reducing time-intensive paper scanning and traditional fax, transmission methods that can introduce potential security risks and human error.
Integration with Kno2’s platform will allow Interactant users to enhance community relationships with referring hospital partners by improving connectivity and interoperability to help reduce current re-hospitalization percentages and to participate as value partners in bundled payments, value-based purchasing models and accountable care organizations.
“Our clients turn to technology to address their need to exchange information with referring hospital partners and with disparate HIT systems, which can be a significant challenge,” HCS’s President Tom Fahey explains. “HCS is partnering with Kno2 to allow our clients to leverage their proven platform to effectively streamline many workflow challenges.”
“The looming impact of value-based care has forced many organizations to prioritize developing their roadmap for interoperability,” said Jon Elwell, CEO of Kno2. “Yet many have delayed even the first step, believing that it would be too complex, costly or resource-intensive. That’s why we partner with industry leaders such as HCS to ensure that healthcare organizations have a cost-effective, scalable platform for patient data exchange, regardless of where they fall within the interoperability continuum.”
