Kno2 is proud to announce J.R. Bluett as our inaugural Employee Spotlight. Kno2 has quadrupled in size over the past 18 months, and we want everyone to get to know the people who sit behind the brand. J.R. has worked at Kno2 since July 2020, serving as a Software Engineer.
What do you do at Kno2?
What do you do at Kno2?Lead, Mentor, Train, Document, Automate, Troubleshoot. Daily planning for the future, for growth, colors…every task from the smallest all the way up. Whether writing a Request For Comment (RFC) document covering Engineering strategy and architecture, or pulling data for a report, spreading the culture of knowledge sharing and documentation is job number one.
Employees need training, or at least resources to help themselves; documentation especially helps new employees get started. Subject Matter Experts (SME) need time to design new features and improve performance, documentation helps answer simple questions without interruption. I help drive a culture that utilizes documentation as the powerhouse of growth and the time savings that it really is. Documentation is a force multiplier in growing companies.
What motivates you to wake up and go to work every day?
Helping people motivates me. I like being high performance and achieving, but I know that I can’t achieve as much by myself as with a team. That means that I LOVE helping a team achieve. Mentoring people helps them, and it helps me. The more that the people around me know, the more that they can do, the more that we can collaborate on difficult problems because the simple problems are solved, the more fun I’m having.
What do you enjoy most outside of work?
Family is my passion. I won at life when I got married and I’ve continued that winning streak with my spouse and children ever since. Together, we laugh, wonder, learn, and grow. Frequent pastimes are board games, learning about the strange and amazing, creating art and music, and telling jokes.
What’s something most people don’t know about you?
I ask questions to learn, and so that other people won’t have to ask, because I might learn something and I don’t care if I look like I don’t already know.

A friend of mine who works at Aprima, an eMDs company and an integrated partner of Kno2, recommended me to the company.
