Boise, ID (July 7, 2015) — Inofile announced today that its Kno2 clinical document exchange platform has achieved Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC-HIT) 2014 Edition Modular Certification via Drummond Group LLC. This certification designates that Kno2 offers the functionality that enables eligible providers and hospitals to meet Stage 1 and Stage 2 Meaningful Use requirements, qualifying these organizations to receive payments under the ongoing EHR adoption program.

“Our initial target for Kno2 was the broad population of providers sitting outside the mandates of meaningful use, primarily the post-acute space,” said Therasa Bell, Inofile’s president and chief technology officer. “Once we entered the market, there was tremendous demand from all segments of healthcare, including ambulatory, where MU2 attestation is a critical part of their EMR technology investment. Given this demand, we pursued and achieved Modular Certification, enabling Kno2 to meet the needs of every provider throughout the entire spectrum of care. This functionality, combined with Kno2’s publicly available APIs, now enables EMR technology providers to quickly and easily integrate Kno2 into their platform, which many are quickly pursuing to enhance their product and enable clients to accelerate attestation.”

To earn the certification, Kno2 was tested to be in accordance with applicable standards and certification criteria put forth by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). Inofile’s early adoption of DIRECT standards not only paved the way for MU2 certification, its Kno2 technology has elevated and expanded the use cases for DIRECT throughout healthcare.

“The culture at Inofile is one of innovation and action, so we never limited ourselves to using DIRECT simply for direct messaging,” said Jon Elwell, Inofile’s CEO. “When used to its potential, DIRECT provides simple, affordable and accessible answers to many of the common challenges that healthcare providers face every day when exchanging patient information.

Kno2 is accessible via the cloud, scanners, multi-function devices and leading health information networks such as Surescripts. This accessibility and standards-based technology enables healthcare providers to provide faster, more secure and accurate transitions of care, referrals and other record-sharing activities.

“Rather than just talking about interoperability, we’re creating and making it achievable to everyone,” continued Elwell. “Our recent release of an electronic records request function enables providers to transform how they request and receive patient information instantly… regardless of their overall technology adoption. We’re handling previously complex tasks like registration, ID proofing and configuration all within the Kno2 cloud and making it available to anyone via a simple monthly subscription. Many of our customers are building connected communities of providers using the invitation platform built into Kno2. While we’re really excited about our MU2 Module Certification, it’s the latest achievement in a long line of innovation that takes DIRECT far beyond simple direct messaging and broadens our ability to impact healthcare everywhere.”
